Afghanistan Premier League Registered the Sixes Record Breaking Encounter

Every new T20 league sets the stage for some record-breaking spree and that was proven true in the recently concluded Afghanistan Premier League (APL) when the eventual winners Balkh Legends were involved in a history-making match with Kabul Zwanan.

Played on Sunday 14th October 2018 during the league stage, the content between the two string sides saw 37 sixes being hit through the entire match, breaking the previous record for maximum sixes in a T20 encounter. The earlier record was registered on two occasions before, Trinbago Knight Riders-St Lucia Stars, Caribbean Premier League 2018 and Central Districts-Otago, Super Smash 2016, where 34 sixes were hit.

Balkh Legends contributed 23 sixes while Kabul Zwanan added 14 maximum to the tally. Individually speaking, Balkh Legends’ Chris Gayle smashed 10 alone and Hazratullah Zazai from Kabul slammed 7 sixes out which 6 sixes came in one over.
