Excitement for the Afghanistan Premier League (APL) is growing throughout the nation, and in the international cricket circuit with the bidding process for the franchise owners set to begin this Sunday, 15th July 2018.
ACB has already invited proposals for the rights to own the franchise of the five marquee Afghan cities, namely Kabul, Kandahar, Balkh, Paktia and Nangarhar. The pitch for the bidding was extended out to interested corporate houses including the enterprises, consortiums, LLPs, firms and so.
The interested parties can access the tender bid forms on the official website of the premier league: www.aplt20.tv starting this Sunday. The parties have to submit the bids up to 26 July 2018 by 5 pm. The bids need to be submitted to the office of the - APL Sports Tournament Organising Services on the 19th floor, Conrad Dubai, Sheikh Zayed Road, PO Box 5y610, Dubai, UAE. The bids will be opened on 27 July 2018 and the franchise owners will be declared the very next day.
While the name of the cities with the franchise seems associated on the front, but the commercial gains will not be related to these cities, as the league matches are slated to be held in UAE. The league will take place between October 5 to 21, 2018 with a total of 23 matches. The Emirates Cricket Board is excited to become part of Afghanistan’s glory in the shortest format of cricket after bringing Pakistan’s own T20 league to the stage.
